Brussels, 13 February - The EDPB has recently adopted its work programme for 2026-2027, which is grounded in the four pillars of the EDPB strategy 2024-2027.
The work programme is based on priorities from the EDPB strategy. It also considers commitments made in the Helsinki Statement regarding enhanced clarity, support, and engagement. These aim to simplify GDPR compliance, strengthen consistency, and boost cross-regulatory cooperation.
Easing compliance is a top priority for the EDPB. The work programme reaffirms the commitment to simplifying GDPR compliance for organisations. This includes developing ready-to-use templates. Following public consultation, EDPB decided to create templates for legitimate interest assessment, record of processing activities, and privacy notice/policy.
These are in addition to the already announced templates for data breach notifications and data protection impact assessment. This initiative aims to streamline the compliance process for various organizational needs.
This is also in line with both the Helsinki Statement’s objective of strengthening dialogue with stakeholders and facilitating GDPR compliance for organisations.
