China-aligned group uses Windows Group Policy for espionage malware deployment.

A previously undocumented China-aligned threat cluster, LongNosedGoblin, has been attributed to a series of cyber attacks. These attacks target governmental entities in Southeast Asia and Japan. The end goal of these attacks is cyber espionage, as reported by Slovak cybersecurity company ESET today. The threat activity cluster has been active since at least September 2023.
